Sandugo Trade Expo still open to visitors & buyers until July 28

Bohol Governor Edgar M. Chatto, DTI Undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya, DTI Assistant Secretary Blesilda Lantayona, DTI 7 Regional Director Asteria Caberte and DTI Provincial Director Ma. Elena Arbon led the Sandugo Trade Expo’s opening program and ceremonial ribbon cutting on July 24, 2013  at the Island City Mall, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.


A simultaneous launching of the SME Roving Academy and signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) for MSMEs project of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) was also made during the opening program of the Sandugo Trade Expo 2013.

SSF is a project of the government meant to improve the quality and productivity of microenterprises and MSMEs by addressing the gaps and bottlenecks in the value chain of priority industry clusters through the provision of processing equipment for the common use of the Microenterprises and SMEs.

Around Php 30 Million have been allotted for the Shared Services Facility (SSF) project in Central Visayas.


Shared Service Facilities or SSFs were recently launched in Bohol and Siquijor.  These include meat processing facility in Catigbian, Bohol on July 12. On July 19, Shared Service facilities were launched for the wood craft industry and Bayong production in Siquijor.


The SME Roving Academy in Bohol held forums and workshops on green practices and food safety for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).Also among the activities under the Sandugo Trade Expo was the Green Forum, a joint effort of the Department of Trade and Industry and the German  Technical Agency GIZ under the Promotion of Green Economic Development  Project (ProGED). 

Now on its 8th year as a regional trade fair, the Sandugo Trade Expo features timeless interpretations of locally made products focusing on heritage, culture and environment protection through ecologically-friendly, sustainable and indigenous materials. More specifically, products exhibited included furnishings and fixtures, wearables, fashion accessories, and processed food.

The trade exhibit runs until tomorrow, July 28, 2013 and will be open from 8:00 in the morning to 9:00 in the evening.
